Azora E. (Roberts) Crose, 85, passed away peacefully on June 6th, 2019. She was a resident of Chelmsford, MA for over 45 years.

She was the youngest of five children, born March 18, 1934 in Somerville, MA to warm and loving parents: Elsie (Spear) and Herbert Roberts.

Known as “Zukey” to her family, she attended Somerville Public Schools. She met her one and only love, James Crose, whom she called “Skip” at aged 12 and they were married for almost 51 years until his passing in 2004. She was a dedicated wife and mother. She especially loved her role as “Gramma”.

In 1989, she and Skip purchased a Holiday Rambler that they parked on Lake Forest Resort on Great East Lake in Wakefield, NH and made wonderful memories for the next 10 summers. During that time, she retired from her customer service position at Electro Rent. Her favorite job was running camera 3 at the Telemedia Studio in Chelmsford for many years. She appreciated her claims to fame as an extra in the short film, The Journey and a front-page article in the Chelmsford Independent about her memories of WWII and ration stamps.

She was a sharp, vivacious woman who always had a story to tell. She loved the Westford and Chelmsford Senior Centers where she enjoyed many close friendships, the United Methodist Church of Westford, crafting, bingo and musical theater.

Azora is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Richard Fortin of Merrimack, NH; her son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Heather Crose of Merrimack, NH; Her sister and brother-in-law, E. Adele and George Anderson of Londonderry, NH; sister Arlene Howe of Clarksville, VA; grandchildren: Britni Lamontagne, Madison Crose and Mason Crose; great-grandchild, Edward Lamontagne; and many nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her husband, James Crose; her sister, Virginia Nelson and brother; George Roberts.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 - 7:00 pm in the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen Street, Chelmsford. Her funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 o'clock. Interment will be held privately.
