Obituary

David J. McLaughlin, recently of Acton and former longtime resident of Chelmsford and Westford, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at Life Care Center of Acton. He was 73 years old.

He was born in Providence, RI on July 8, 1946 and was a son of the late Albert and Dorothy (Taylor) McLaughlin.

David was raised in Westford and was a graduate of Westford Academy. Upon marriage in 1967, he moved to Chelmsford and was employed for many years at Raytheon Corp. David had a love of music and was a talented musician, singing and learning to play the guitar at a young age. His family and friends have many fond memories of sitting around the campfire at his home on Lake Winnipesaukee listening to him play and singing along.

David is survived by his son, Michael McLaughlin and his wife Amy of Merrimack, NH, his daughter, Wendy Allen and her husband James of Hot Springs, Arkansas, two grandchildren; Alyssa Rodgers and her husband Christopher Rodgers of Little Rock, Arkansas and Keelan Allen of Hot Springs, Arkansas, as well as two great-grandsons; David and Bryson Rodgers of Little Rock, Arkansas. He also leaves his sister, Nancy Fannon and her husband Morgan of Westford, nephews; Tom and Doug Fannon and their families and his former wife, Joan F. (Crouse) McLaughlin.

It being his wish, calling hours have been omitted.

A private graveside service will be held at West Chelmsford Cemetery, Chelmsford.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Musicians on Call, 1300 Division St., Suite 301, Nashville, TN 37203 or musiciansoncall.org.
