Obituary

Frank L. Huber, 85, a resident of Chelmsford, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at his home. He was the beloved husband of his late wife Marie, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage until her passing in 2017.

Frank was born in Manhattan, New York in 1934. He was the son of immigrant parents, Elizabeth and Frank Huber. He had fond memories of growing up near Central Park and solo afternoon visits to the Museum of Natural History.

After graduating from high school, Frank attended the City College of New York where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Following college, Frank served two years in the U.S. Army, being stationed at Fort Holabird, Baltimore, Maryland. Returning to New York area, Frank was hired as an electrical engineer by EDO Corporation, a Navy defense contractor. Frank enjoyed his career, working 39 years for EDO. He participated in the development of almost every major sonar program, holding titles of project manager, system design manager and program manager.

Following their wedding, Frank and Marie moved to Long Island where they lived for close to 50 years. For the past several years, Frank was a resident of The Summer Place in Chelmsford, where he had many good friends.

Frank was a loving and dedicated family man. Very mechanically inclined, he could fix basically anything in the house. His interests included classical music, stamp collecting, computers, gardening, and astronomy (seeking evidence of extraterrestrial life). An excellent problem-solver, teacher, and friend, Frank will be dearly missed.

Frank is survived by his son, Jeffrey and daughter-in-law, Jane; three grandchildren, Benjamin, Christopher, and Eric; his sister, Elsie; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2019 from 9:30 am - 10:30 am at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. His funeral mass will be held following the visiting hours at 11 o'clock at St. Mary Parish, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford. Interment to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Chelmsford.
