Obituary

James Michael Miele, age 64, a resident of Chelmsford, formerly of Cambridge and Somerville, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2019, at his home.

He was born in Cambridge, MA on November 10, 1954 and was a son of the late Francis A. and June (McCollem) Miele.

James was raised in Cambridge and Somerville, having graduated from Cambridge Rindge and Latin. He worked most of his life in construction and most recently was a custodian in the Cambridge School System until his retirement 10 years ago. James was a kind, loving soul, who brought smiles and laughter to anyone who was near him. James donated to various organizations dear to him, especially St. Jude's Children's Hospital. He loved music from the 1940's and 1950's including performers like Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, and Stevie Wonder. In his spare time he enjoyed watching horse races and feeding the birds outside his window. Most important of all, James cherished the time he spent with his beloved family.

James leaves his children; James Miele and Katie Miele both of Chelmsford, his brother Joseph Miele and his wife Janie of Wilmington, his sister Diane Carroll and her husband Richard of Norwood, his sister-in-law Denise Miele of Middleton, his Godchildren Alyson Canestri, James Carroll, and Lyndsie Nugent, his best friend Eddie Calendar of Natick, many nieces, nephews, cousins and of course his dog, Sodapop, who was his best pal.

Sadly he is predeceased by his siblings Eddie Miele, Francis Miele, and the late Patricia Munro.

Funeral Services and Interment will be held privately. Memorial donations may be made in his name to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or stjude.org.

Oh , so sorry to hear this. I remember Jimmy from when I was little. My step-father and mother were good friends of his dating back to who knows when. Thoughts and prayers for all family left behind

Uncle Jim was always good to me and I have very fond memories of us playing basketball, throwing the baseball around and him taking me to the park when I was a boy. He lived downstairs from me in a two family house and he would always play with the neighborhood kids, throwing snowballs in the winter and putting a smile on all our faces. He will be missed greatly!
