Michael Edward Tessier, age 64, a longtime Chelmsford resident, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 20, 2019, at the Veteran's Hospital in West Roxbury, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Cindy (Kydd) Tessier with whom he shared 24 years of marriage.

He was born in Framingham, MA, on April 27, 1955, and was a son of Rena (Garfield) Tessier of Ashland, MA and the late Arthur E. Tessier.

Michael was raised in Ashland and was a graduate of Ashland High School with the Class of 1973. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1973 until his honorable discharge in 1976. During that time he served in Furth, Germany in B Company with the 123rd Maintenance Battalion. After his service, Michael earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from Framingham State University with the Class of 1980. For over 20 years, he worked as a software engineer for Honeywell, Bull, and most recently Nortel Networks. Michael was a talented writer, and in 2007 he wrote two books titled "In Another Time" and "The Thief of Another Time." In 2013, he wrote his third book titled "Hope in the Dark Horizons." Each book was dedicated to a member of his family. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, golfing, arcades at Salisbury Beach, crossword puzzles, Sudoku, and gambling at Foxwoods. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially family camping trips. He was a devoted husband, dad, and grandfather who will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

In addition to his loving wife and mother, Michael leaves his son, Alex Tessier and his companion Amy Fawcett of Billerica, his siblings; Jimmy Tessier of CT, John Tessier of Ashland, and Carol Brill and her husband Ed of Whitinsville. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Jean (McAllister) Kydd and several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his father-in-law Robert L. Kydd and his sister-in-law Donna Tessier.

A Celebration of Michael's life will be held on Monday from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford.

Interment will be held at 11 o'clock on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Avenue, Bourne, MA. Kindly meet at the cemetery.
