Charlotte B. Scott Obituary (1916

Charlotte B. (Taylor) Scott, age 94, a resident of Chelmsford and formerly of Reading, died peacefully Friday, March 4, 2011 at the Westford House. She was the beloved wife of the late Daniel J. Scott, Jr. , who died in 1973. Charlotte was born on April 5, 1916 in Somerville, MA, a daughter of the late Walter F. and Helen (Jones) Taylor. She received her education in the Reading Schools and graduated from Reading High School. She proudly spent many years tending to and caring for her family. She was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Westford. Charlotte was very active at the Chelmsford Senior Center where she volunteered at their Senior Day Care and was a member of their TOPS Program. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, tole painting and other crafts, and was an avid Red Sox fan. Charlotte is survived by her three children; Shirley Brake and her husband Michael of Lunenburg, Susan Vlasak and her husband Stanley of Westford, and Daniel J. Scott, III and his wife Marie of Wakefield; 5 Grandchildren; Kristin Verity and her husband Joseph of Melrose, Melissa Shirtcliff and her husband Christopher of Tewksbury, Patrick Scott and his wife Kelsey of Wakefield, Scott Vlasak and his wife Karen of Fitchburg, and Sara Rice and her husband Adam of Bolton; and 3 Great-Grandchildren; Isabella, Christopher, Jr., and Casey. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. Charlotte was predeceased by her brother Stuart Taylor and sister Constance Flanagan. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 until 8pm at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. Her Funeral Service will be held Wednesday at 11 o'clock at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 75 Cold Spring Rd., Westford. Interment in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, 185 Lake St., Peabody.
