Claude James 'Jim' Harvey Obituary (1946 - 2012)

CHELMSFORD-Claude James Jim Harvey, II, age 66, a lifelong resident of Chelmsford, died on September 5, 2012 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. He was born in Lowell on January 17, 1946 and was a son of the late Claude A. and Esther L. (Smith) Harvey. Over the years Jim worked for his familys businesses, Harvey Building Supplies and Chelmsford Excavating Co. and later for B & R Auto Parts. He was a longtime member of the Chelmsford Lodge of Elks. Jim enjoyed spending time fishing and riding his motorcycle. Jim is survived by his children Shannon Alexander, Michael Harvey, and Jill Harvey; granddaughter Kathryn Mello, and siblings Karen Dunn and her husband Gary of FL, his twin brother Charles Daniel Danny Harvey of FL, Robert A. Harvey and his wife Nancy of Chelmsford, and Richard D. Harvey and his wife Marie of Dracut. He was the brother of the late Sandra Vallincourt, David G. Harvey, and Stephen K. Harvey. At his request calling hours have been omitted and a private burial was held in Pine Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Assoc., 1301 Pennsylvania Ave., Suite 800, Washington, DC 20004, or to Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St., Bldg 9, Lawrence, MA 01843.
