Eugene Theodore "Gene" Dziczek Obituary (1930 - 2018)

CHELMSFORD - Eugene Theodore Dziczek, a resident of Chelmsford, died peacefully at home with his beloved wife of 48 years, Nancy, by his side and under the care of Circle Home Hospice. Gene was a first generation Polish American, born in Clinton on August 7, 1930 to Joseph and Maryanna (Pultorak) Dziczek. He attended St. Stanislaus School and graduated from Lowell High School with the class of 1948. Gene played football under Coach Ray Riddick and was Captain of the Track Team his senior year. He continued his education at Michigan State University and Lowell Technological Institute. Gene was employed as a supervisor at Raytheon in South Lowell for 31 years before retiring in 1991. Gene proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a parishioner at Holy Trinity Polish Church in Lowell. Gene will be remembered for his love of books and world history. He enjoyed quiet time at home, bird watching and enjoying get-togethers with family and friends. He and Nancy took many trips throughout the United States, Canada and Europe and especially enjoyed visiting with extended family in Poland. Gene is survived by his loving wife, Nancy (Wilder), his god-children; Gail (Dziczek) Medina and Anna (Ruta) Maciejewska, nephews; Brian Maciejewski and his wife Jeanne, Walter Maciejewski, Joseph Dziczek and his wife Missy and David Dziczek and his wife Edna, and nieces; Maryanne (Dziczek) Johnstone, Connie Dziczek, Gail (Dziczek) Medina, Maureen (Dziczek) Poitras and her husband Billy and Sandra Sadowski Gagne and her husband Dean and their children. He also leaves his in-laws; Elizabeth (Wilder) and her husband Charles Tewksbury and John and Bonnie Wilder and their children. Gene was predeceased by his parents, his sister Stephanie Maciejewski and her husband Walter and sister Bertha Sadowski and her husband Stanley, brother Joseph Dziczek and his wife Christine and brother George Peter Dziczek and his wife Marguerite and nephews; George Peter Maciejewski and Steven Maciejewski. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 9 to 10 am at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. His Funeral Service will be on Tuesday at 11 o'clock at Holy Trinity Parish, 340 High St., Lowell followed by interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lowell.
