Gertrude M. 'Trudy' Carey Obituary (1946

Gertrude M. "Trudy" Carey, 71, a longtime Tewksbury resident passed away on Saturday October 21, 2017. Trudy was born August 5, 1946 in Lowell. She attended Billerica Schools and graduated from Billerica Memorial High School in 1964. She attended Lowell State Teachers College in Lowell and graduated in 1968. Gertrude obtained a Master of Science in Library Science from Louisiana State University (LSU) in 1970. Gertrude worked all of her life for the Tewksbury school system and retired as the head Librarian. Gertrude was confirmed at St. Andrews Parish in Billerica, MA. She is survived by her mother Gertrude T. (Gendreau) Carey of Billerica and predeceased by her father Elliot J. Carey. She is also survived by four brothers and their wives, Ralph and his wife Eleanor of Westminster, James and his wife Valerie of Billerica, Daniel and his wife Dianne of Chelmsford and Robert and his wife Pamela of Attleboro. She has 10 nieces and nephews and 9 great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday October 24, 2017 from 3 until 7 PM in the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 11 AM in St. Mary Parish, 25 North Road, CHELMSFORD. KINDLY MEET AT CHURCH. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, CHELMSFORD.
