John M Manning Obituary (1925 - 2016)

John M. Manning, Jr., 90, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Wingate at Belvidere in Lowell. He was the beloved husband of Margaret (Wilson) Manning with whom he shared 64 years of marriage. He was born in Newburyport on July 20, 1925 and was a son of the late John M. and Helen L. (Doucette) Manning. John was a graduate of Amesbury High School and earned his Bachelors Degree from Northeastern University. He proudly served his country as part of the Third Army during WWII. Prior to his retirement, John was employed for 30 years at Raytheon. In addition to his loving wife, John is survived by his devoted children; Anne E. Manning of Westford, Kathleen M. McMahon and her husband James of Dunstable, and Mark C. Manning and his wife Carol of Portsmouth, RI, and four loving grandchildren; Lauren, Mark, Julia, and Kevin Manning. He is also survived by dear nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Mary Deveau, brother-in-law of the late George Deveau, John & Theresa Wilson and Nancy & George Fitzgerald. The family would like to thank Dr. Peter Bradshaw and the staff of Wingate at Belvidere for their loving kindness while John was in their care. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9 to 10:30 AM at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD followed by his Funeral Mass at 11 oclock at St. Mary Parish, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford.
