Joseph H. Reynolds, Jr. Obituary (1931

Joseph H. Reynolds Jr., 80, of Chelmsford, passed away on October 9th at Lowell General Hospital. "Papa Joe" as he was affectionately named was born on January 19th, 1931 in Arlington VA and was the son of the late Joseph and Frances Reynolds of Coconut Creek FL. He was predeceased by his sister, Judy Cannon, of Wauchula FL. Joe was a graduate of Randolph Macon College in Ashland VA and Vanderbilt University. He served with honor in the US Navy. He spent 35 years with the Dewey & Almy chemical division of W.R. Grace. He took great pride in his company, job, and the people he spent so many years working alongside. Joe was a long time member of Vesper Country Club in Tyngsborough, and there are hundreds of Titleist golf balls on the bottom of the Merrimack River on the 4th and 14th holes there as a result. He is survived by two sons, Jason and his wife Patricia of Chelmsford, and Brian of Concord NH. He also leaves behind two granddaughters, Caroline and Julia, whom he adored and was extremely proud of. He also leaves behind his former wife, Cass Reynolds of Nashua NH, who graciously supported him in his final years. His family would like to thank all the employees at Meadow Lodge in North Chelmsford. They provided him with such wonderful care and compassion as he struggled with the daily realities of dementia. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 5-7pm at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. His graveside service will be private.
