Judith R. Simone Obituary (1941

Judith (Murphy) Simone, age 71, lifelong resident of Chelmsford, passed away on October 12, 2012 surrounded by family after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Joseph D. Simone to whom she had been married 46 years. Judy was born on March 3, 1941 and was the daughter of the late Henry and Margaret (Fennell) Murphy. She was predeceased by her loving sister Joan (Bun) Murphy Giras and her beloved Uncle Hollis Murphy as well as many other aunts and uncles. Judy was educated in Chelmsford and received her teaching degree from Lowell Teachers College in 1964. She taught 4th and 5th grade in Shirley before dedicating time to being a full time mother. She also substitute taught in Chelmsford, Littleton and Lowell. Judy was an avid reader and a lifelong learner. She was best known for her love of animals, music, dancing, her quick wit and humor, as well as her uncanny ability to make everyone she met feel at ease. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren whom she adored. In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by 3 children: Christine Simone, Steven Simone and his partner Jamie Bishop, and Cynthia Simone as well as her four grandchildren: Brittany, Shannon, Paul and Sophia. She also leaves her niece Margie Galanos, her husband Mike, and their three children Nicholas, Michelle, Megan as well as her cousin Chris McGovern and partner Tony Leonti as well as the many cousins and friends whose lives she had touched over the years. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 3-7 pm at the Blake Funeral Home 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. Judiths Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday morning at 9 oclock at St. Mary Church, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford. Relative and friends are asked to PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH.
