Kei Leung "Lawrence" Mak Obituary (1955 - 2024)

Kei Leung Mak, better known as Lawrence Mak of Lowell, MA, passed away on May 23, 2024 at Lowell General Hospital. He was born on November 19, 1955, in Kowloon, Hong Kong, the son of the late Kwok Ping Mak and Shuet Chun Ng. Lawrence was proud of his career, especially in healthcare. For many years, he was employed as a dialysis technician at Fresenius Medical Care, a phlebotomist at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, and an emergency room technician at Lowell General Hospital, among other positions. A trilingual speaker fluent in Cantonese, English, and Spanish, Lawrence also became a certified medical interpreter. Lawrence worked in the restaurant industry for numerous years in addition to his healthcare career. Lawrence was known for his excellent cooking skills, and he enjoyed watching football, drinking black coffee, reading the news, going out to eat, traveling and nature, especially wildlife. Lawrence is survived by his beloved daughter, Olivia Mak of Lowell, MA, his siblings, sister-in-law Pearl Ng, Shirley Lowe, Sonia & William Wong, Stella Mak & Terence Lee, all of Greater Boston, his dear family and many friends. He is predeceased by his brother, the late Kee Shing Mak & his sister, the late Susan Oei. In respect to Lawrences wishes, no funeral services will be held. Memorial donations can be made to Lowell General Hospital, Philanthropy Department, 295 Varnum Avenue, Lowell, MA, 01854. Respecting Lawrence's wishes, there will be no services.
