Ralph John Hulslander Jr. Obituary (1924 - 2014)

Ralph John Hulslander, Jr., 89, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2014 at Lowell General Hospital. He was the husband of Greta Irene (Berry) Hulslander. He was born in Lowell, MA on July 30, 1924 and was a son of the late Ralph John Hulslander, Sr. and Edith (Matley) Hulslander. Ralph was a Veteran of the United States Navy having served as a Pilot during World War II. He was employed for many years as a sales representative for Electro Metals of Chelmsford and ESC of Stoughton. He was a 32nd degree Mason and member of the William North Masonic Lodge of Lowell. Ralph was also a member of the Bektash Shriners of Concord, NH, and Mount Pleasant Country Club where he was an avid golfer. Ralph was a longtime Chelmsford Town Meeting Representative and also a School Committee member at Nashoba Valley Technical High School. In addition to his wife, Ralph is survived by his son Ralph J. Hulslander III and his wife Marilyn of Pepperell, three grandchildren; Dawn Higgins and her husband Matthew of Winterville, NC, Jeffrey Hulslander and his wife Abra of Groton, and Kathrin Osterberg and her husband Paul of West Boylston, MA, and five great-grandchildren; Katelyn, Cole, and Chloe Higgins, and Jack and Emma Hulslander, and a sister Irene Hurst of Spring Hill, FL. Ralph was the brother of the late Dr. Frank Hulslander and Avis Mello. Visiting hours on Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. A graveside service will be held on Friday at 10 oclock at Pine Ridge Cemetery, 130 Billerica Road, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114.
