Robert K. Moores, Sr. Obituary (1934

CHELMSFORD- Robert K. Moores Sr., 74, a longtime resident of Chelmsford died on June 15, 2009 at his residence. Robert was born on August 18, 1934 a son of the late John C. and Anne (Frausel) Moores. He grew up in East Boston and moved to Billerica following high school. He served for two years in the military in Germany followed by employment at Zwicker Bros. Gulf Service Station in Cambridge. Other career paths included 25 years in sales with the following companies: Monroe Calculator Co. in Boston, Brodie Industrial Trucks in Woburn and Peabody Office Furniture Co. in Boston. Most recently he was aiding his son, Robert, in the start-up and management of his precision machine shop business in Chelmsford. Since 1962 he has been an active member of The Church of the Open Bible in Burlington. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Grace Dental Mission in Dracut since its inception. In 1994 through 2007 he had been very much involved in the start-up and promotion of the Lexington Symphony Orchestra in Lexington. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Annette (Lambert) Moores and his four children Barbara Crampton and her husband Andrew of Pepperell; Sandra Yurko and her husband Bob of Chelmsford; Bob Moores and his wife Wendy (White) of Pepperell; and Eric Moores and his wife Teri (LeMieux) of Hollis, NH. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren Nicole (Crampton) Holmstrom and her husband Erik, Drew Crampton, Jill Crampton, Chelsey O'Neill, Kyle O'Neill, Eric Moores, Greg Moores, Riley Moores, Chase Moores, Kasey Moores, Tia Moores, Cody Moores and Cole Moores and one great- granddaughter Kali Boisvert. He is also survived by a brother Jack Moores, Jr. and his wife Patricia (Orr) of Anchorage, AK; sisters Carolyn (Moores) Walters of Chelmsford, Deborah (Moores) Avery of Alpharetta, GA and Bonnie (Moores) Charle of Alpharetta, GA. Visiting Hours will be held on Wednesday evening from 3 to 8pm at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. A Graveside Service will take place on Thursday at 2 o'clock at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford. Interment in Pine Ridge Cemetery. A Memorial Service will take place on Thursday evening at 7pm at The Church of the Open Bible, Burlington.
